Common Misconceptions About Botox

Despite being one of the world's most popular aesthetic procedures, there is a lot of misinformation about Botox. With over 30 years of clinical experience, I debunk these myths.

Myth 1: "Botox will freeze my face"

Fact: Botox at the right dose and in experienced hands preserves natural expressions. Overdose or incorrect application can cause a frozen look, but that's the practitioner's error.

Myth 2: "Botox is addictive"

Fact: Botox is not physically addictive. When it wears off, wrinkles return. People want to repeat it because they're satisfied with results - that's satisfaction, not addiction.

Myth 3: "I'll look worse if I stop"

Fact: When you stop Botox, your muscles gradually return to normal. You'll look like you never had it. You won't look worse, just continue aging naturally.

Myth 4: "Botox is only for old people"

Fact: Preventive Botox between ages 25-30 is increasingly popular. Starting before wrinkles form prevents deep lines from developing.
