Possible Risks in Filler Applications
Filler applications are generally safe procedures, but like any medical procedure, they carry certain risks. With over 30 years of experience, I explain what you need to pay attention to in order to minimize these risks.
Temporary Side Effects (Normal)
- Swelling: Can last 2-7 days, ice application helps
- Bruising: Common especially in lip and under-eye areas
- Redness: Temporary redness at injection points
- Tenderness: Sensitivity to touch may last a few days
Rare Complications
- Infection: Can occur in non-sterile environments
- Granuloma: Delayed reaction of the body to filler material
- Asymmetry: May occur with inexperienced applications
- Nodule formation: Hard lumps from incorrect technique
Serious Complications (Very Rare)
- Vascular occlusion: Vessel blockage - requires emergency intervention
- Skin necrosis: Tissue death - early detection is critical
- Vision loss: Requires special attention in nose and forehead areas
How to Minimize Risks
- Choose an experienced, certified physician
