High-frequency ultrasound may help assess some filler deposits, tissue planes and blood flow. It does not identify every product with certainty, replace examination or urgent clinical decisions, or guarantee prevention of complications.

Ultrasound may show the approximate location and plane of material, selected deposits or nodules, a fluid collection and some vascular relationships with Doppler. Case series and an evolving literature suggest a role in targeted hyaluronidase planning for certain HA complications. These data do not establish superiority or a standard dose for every complication.
Different filler materials may have similar or variable appearances, while old product, scarring and inflammation complicate interpretation. A low-frequency probe, unsuitable settings or limited experience may miss small facial structures. An image report is not a clinical diagnosis and cannot support the conclusion that a visible vessel means no risk.
Use is determined by the clinical question and a physician trained in filler and facial ultrasonography. It may help with a delayed nodule, unknown product or targeted management, but should not delay assessment and treatment of suspected acute ischaemia. Product and lot records, timeline and an emergency-transfer plan remain necessary.
