How should before-and-after photographs for exosome products be read critically?

A single exosome before-and-after photograph cannot identify the product, route, co-procedures, measurement time, durability or safety. Without matching light, camera, facial position, skin hydration, makeup and image processing, apparent changes in brightness, pores, pigment and fine lines can be misleading.

A brighter same-day image is not evidence of long-term tissue regeneration.

Comparable image conditions

Use the same camera and lens, fixed distance, manual exposure and white balance, identical room lighting, neutral expression, fixed head position and clean skin without makeup. Match polarized with polarized and non-polarized with non-polarized images. Disable beautification, HDR, sharpening and colour correction, and keep crop and scale constant.

Outcome and timeline

Hydration, erythema, pigment, pore appearance, elasticity and wrinkles are different outcomes. State the measuring device, validated scale, blinded evaluator and threshold for a clinically meaningful difference. Immediate oedema or moisturizer sheen is not the same outcome as a result measured at 90 or 180 days.

Disclose product and co-procedure

An image should be accompanied by the exact product, lot, source, dose, route, session count, energy device and settings, skincare and capture date. Ask whether only the best responders were selected and whether unfavorable outcomes were reported. Visual material cannot replace controlled evidence, product verification and adverse-event follow-up.
