Are topical exosomes, application after microneedling and injection equivalent?

Topical application, use over a disrupted barrier and injection are different exposure routes with different absorption, sterility requirements and potential risks. A small study using one route does not establish safety or effectiveness for another.

Direct answer

Topical use on intact skin is not equivalent to delivery through a needle or microchannels.
Injection adds questions about sterility, endotoxin, particles, immune reaction and placement in the wrong tissue.
Clinical use should not be assumed when the product label does not explicitly support the intended route.

Why route is part of the evidence

The skin barrier limits which molecules and vesicles pass and to what extent. Temporary channels after microneedling or laser may change exposure, while injection places material directly into tissue. Dose, bioavailability, immune response and adverse-event profile may therefore differ.

A topical product is not an injectable product

Cosmetic packaging, preservative, carrier or manufacturing standards do not establish suitability for injection. Even a 'sterile' claim does not by itself verify endotoxin, particles, vesicle identity, manufacturing consistency or an injection indication. Changing the route is not equivalent to the protocol in a study.

Match a study result correctly

When reading a paper, check product source, route, skin preparation, co-procedure, dose, sessions, comparator and follow-up together. Topical research does not support an injection claim, and injection research does not validate an over-the-counter serum. Product class and permission in Türkiye require route-specific verification.
