Why are maintenance, calibration and handpiece records needed for a laser device?

The energy selected on a screen is not the only evidence of optical output reaching skin. Authorized maintenance, calibration or output verification, handpiece and lens cleaning, cooling, software, fault and consumable records should follow the exact model.

Display value versus delivered output

A laser may include a power source, optical path, fibre, mirror, lens, scanner and handpiece. Contamination, misalignment or wear can change beam shape and delivered energy. A traceable service document

The record should include manufacturer and model, serial, software, handpieces, measuring instrument, date, tolerance, deviation, replacement and next due date.
